What is the most you've spent on a Pokemon TCG card?

Just dipped into my snack fund to snag a vintage holographic Charizard that set me back more than I'd like to admit, but man, the nostalgia hit and that card shine was worth every penny. Got me curious, though... What's the wallet damage record for you folks when it comes to a single piece of that sweet TCG loot?

I’m embarrassed to even say. Let’s just say during the covid hype I spent close to $5k on a card :(

Most I've spent on a card was probably buying the base set collection to scan for this site lol. But resold it later anyways.

On a single card... I only purchased a couple of Celebration cards to complete the master set (£10 worth).

I've spent more than I care to say but well over 3k. I have 2 kids who are also collectors and working on their own sets outside of the sets I'm working on.

At least you get to enjoy it with your kids tho! Do they prefer collecting older sets or newer sets?
