We are currently looking for freelance writers to work for DigitalTQ! If you're interested in producing gaming content, then check out this hiring page for all the details!
DigitalTQ is a gaming blog that creates content including game guides, walkthroughs, strategies and news updates. We are looking for a 1-2 writers to join our team and start contributing content to the site.
Pay As You Earn
When we publish an article on our site, we get paid based on how many views it gets. This is because of advertisements that appear alongside the article; so more views = more views of ads = more revenue.
We are looking for freelance writers who would be interested in a setup where you get paid based on the amount of views your articles get on our site. Our current rates are:
- $6 per 1000 views
- Max of 5000 views payout ($6x5 = $30)
- If you hit 5,000 Views, get a bonus of $20
- After 3 months of the article being live, payments are no longer rewarded
That means you can get paid up to $50 per article you write with our system.
Ad rates fluctuate all the time and in some seasons even we don't get paid $6 per 1000 views, making it a net loss.
Instead of paying per article, this system is designed to motivate our writers to find and research good articles that will earn them money. Instead of working to a random word count and fluffing out as much content as possible, we hope this system further incentivises creativity.
Our system is automatically setup to calculate hits on articles and reward $ to the account that posted it once an article crosses the threshold. We use Google Analytics to calculate hits for accuracy.
You'll be able to track all the articles you publish from our publishing site, including how much you have earned and how well your articles are performing.
This is a new setup for us too- we are constantly looking for feedback to make this system both rewarding to writers and us. Any feedback at all would be appreciated.
Pros Of This Setup
- Work whenever you want; no deadlines, no pressure. You get paid based on your own effort and success.
- No limit on the amount of content you can submit; if you want to submit 10 news articles a week, that's fine!
- Freedom on what to write as long as it's related to gaming!
- Use our custom dashboard to manage your content.
Whilst you can earn $0 on an article you submit, you can also earn $50 on an article that took you 30 minutes to write.
Examples

Here are some examples of articles that have been written on our publishing system.
As you can see, two of the articles we wrote as a test performed well enough to earn money. The Crown Zenith Pokemon TCG preview is an easy article to publish; Pokemon puts out a TCG set every couple of months and this type of article can easily be repeated every month. It's likely to earn the full $50 every time.
We also found news on Twitter about a new streaming platform called Kick. We wrote a quick 20 minute article (less than 500 words) and it looking it's going to hit at least $24.
Some articles did not perform very well; such as ones where we repeat news that's already been announced directly on the site it comes from. The MapleStory Odium Area article is basically a retelling of current news on the main maplestory site. Like wise with the Fornite articles.
Gaming News Articles
We want to hire freelance writers to produce gaming news articles. News in gaming moves fast and you can sometimes catch the latest news before anyone else does just by being active in the right place at the right time.
Google tends to reward first to publish content and it can trend on social media sites; so when you hear the latest news you can login to our publishing platform and submit an article asap.
Tips on finding news articles:
- YouTube
Social media is a great way to source news articles. Following publishers on Twitter as they announce the latest games, updates and developments can be a great way to come up with article ideas.
Since we are using a Pay As You Earn, simply republishing the same news as everyone else is not going to make you a lot of money. However, re-writing news into engaging content can.
There are also ways to find guaranteed hits; certain news is easy to rank for than others and we are happy to give our writers ideas on what is the best content to write about.
Currently we are only interested in hiring writers for gaming news, but we may also open this up to other content in the future.
Copyright and Sourcing Material
We take copyright extremely seriously. We want to be an established gaming blog and do not want to feature content that is lifted from other sites.
For every article you write, you will need to produce links to the original source. Any images included must be from the official site that posts the news, not from other gaming sites.
For example: Square Enix announces a new Final Fantasy game. You can use images they provide to show it off on their official site. You can also use the content from their news article to produce your own and link to it.
You cannot go to a gaming site and lift images they have put on their site or steal information they have reported on. It must come from the official source.
We also do not publish "leaks" or report on stolen/criminal content.
Any questions, feel free to get in contact.
Article Outlines
Titles
Titles should contain accurate information about what the content is about. Include as many revlevant keywords which you think could capture audience and search intent.
Good Examples:
Square Enix announces new Final Fantasy game: FFXVI
New Final Fantasy 16 Coming In 2023 Winter!
Brand New Screenshots of Final Fantasy 16 Revealed!
Release Date Announced for Final Fantasy 16!
The title is very important for ranking factors and can make articles get more views just by producing a better title.
Content
Try to write a minimum of 400 words per news article. If you're struggling, you can add some relevant backstory content. If we take the new Final Fantasy 16 game as the article example, you can add a couple of paragraphs about Square Enix and the Final Fantasy series to help bulk it out. It needs to still be relevant to the content.
You should add a minimum of 3 images to your article. All images added to your article must be sourced properly and we expect you to provide links to where you got the images from.
Why 400 words and 3 images? The longer an article is, the more adverts we can insert into the content and display alongside it. If the article is 100 words with 0 images, there is no room for inserting ads and the article won't make any money. Google will also likely not pick up the content because it will be lacking in information to the visitor.
Approval Process
All articles you submit are sent to us for approval first. We examine all content to make sure it is accurate, not copied/pasted, plagerism tools and AI checkers. If you attempt to steal content from other sites, including rewording without original commentary, we will remove you from our site and system.
We will also check all sources to make sure the content you've submitted is accurate and free of copyright infringing material.
Sometimes articles may need modification; we can send back the article to you in your dashboard for review. You'll get an email alert when this happens, explaining what changes need to be made.
Once an article is accepted, it is published on our site and pushed to our social media channels. You can then sit back and see how well it performs.
Article hits are updated every day.
Forum Posting Earning
We want to increase the activity on our forums and currently offering our freelance writers a small bonus incentive to make posts.
You can earn $10 per week for posting the following content:
Forum Posts: 20
Forum Threads: 5
If you're interested in this- let us know and we can activate your account to track your weekly postings and get rewarded each week.
