Pokemon TCG Black Bolt and White Flare Announced!

A brand new Pokemon TCG set named Black Bolt and White Flare has been announced for the Scarlet and Violet series! This set is a new split expansion that will feature all 156 Pokemon discovered in the Unova region, with each Pokemon getting a Illustration Rare or Special Illustration Rare card to collect!

This special set will feature two different Booster Packs; one for Black Bolt and the other for White Flare. The cards inside can contain a new card foil depending on the booster pack opened.

Pokemon TCG Black Bolt and White Flare will release this summer on July 18th 2025!

There will be a host of different products released for this set, include unique Elite Trainer Boxes for either Black Bolt or White Flare.

This set comes just after the newly announced Destined Rivals set featuring Team Rocket.

Pokemon TCG Black Bolt and White Flare Set Details

Black White

This special Pokemon Set will split the 156 Unova Pokemon between the two different boosters of Black Bolt and White Flare. This set will also see the return of special foil patterns for cards, including the Master Ball Foil and Rainbow Poke Ball foil.

This is the first time we are getting a "Split Set" where different cards can be pulled from different Booster Packs.

A new unique foil will be found depending on what pack you open, featuring a new monochromatic black or white design. Collecting the Master Set for this set will be interesting!

The Japanese Pokemon TCG Set equivalent (which will release in June) is also called Black Bolt and White Flare.

The White Flare ETB will contain Tornadus, and you get two of them if you buy the PokemonCenter version.
