The second expansion of the new Pokemon TCG Mega Evolution series has been announced as Phantasmal Flames! This set is going to be released in November 2025 and will contain over 100 new cards for fans to collect!

The new set features Mega Charizard as one of the main characters for this theme and we've already got a Mega Charizard X card preview!

The set will feature Booster Boxes, Elite Trainer Boxes and more products that are accustomed with normal main entry sets.

Mega Evolutions is set to release later this month!

Phantasmal Flames Release Date

Phantasmal Flames will release worldwide on November 14th, 2025.

Pre-release events will commence on November 1st, 2025., where players will be able to participate in tournaments featuring Phantasmal Flames cards before the official release.

The set will also be available to play on November 13th, 2025 via the Pokemon TCG Live App.

What's new in Phantasmal Flames?

The second set for the Mega Evolution series is set to contain over 130 new Pokemon TCG cards. This set is likely to be very small compared to previously released sets, with only 94 cards numbered before secret rares appear.

The set will focus on Dark-type Pokemon, including Mega Charizard X and Mega Gengar! We'll also see appearances from Mega Heracross ex and Mega Lopunny ex.

The new art-style for Ultra Rare Mega Evolution Pokemon cards will also continue and be available with Phantasmal Flames.

Noteworthy cards from the expansion include:

• Six Mega Evolution Pokémon ex
• Four Pokémon ex
• 13 illustration rare Pokémon
• 17 ultra rare Mega Evolution Pokémon ex, Trainer and Energy cards
• Five special illustration rare Mega Evolution Pokémon ex and Supporter cards
• Over 120 cards to collect
• 10 new trainer cards
• More than 15 Pokémon and Trainer cards with special illustrations
