The brand new 30th Celebration Pokemon TCG Set has just been released and this guide looks at the best cards to pull from the set. The set comprises both new and reprinted cards from older sets, including classic cards from the WoTC era!
It feels like we've been waiting for this set forever, after it was announced at the start of the year that we'd be getting a special anniversary set. We've been drip-fed a slew of different 30th Celebration Products and Cards throughout the last few months, but now the full 30th Celebration Card List is here.
Much like Pokemon Celebrations was released for the 25th anniversary, the hype around this set has seen product sold-out across stores. If you've not managed to get your hands on product in time for release, not-to-worry - this set is likely to be printed throughout the rest of the year and into 2027.
30th Celebration Best Cards To Pull
The 30th Anniversary Set contains 178 cards officially and each Booster Pack contains 5 foil cards, 1 foil energy card and 1 code card to use on Pokemon TCG: Live.
There is also a sub-set within the 30th Anniversary set known as the Classic Collection. You can pull Classic cards from a 30th Anniversary Booster Pack.

We've taken a look at the cards in the set and here are the cards which we think are going to be the best pulls:
Mew Ex - Futuristic Rare
There have been plenty of rumours about Mew cards being in the 30th Anniversary Set and Pokemon TCG isn't revealing the surprise cards just yet.
However, the new Futuristic Rarity features Mew and Mewtwo. The Mew card is likely to be one of the best chase cards in the set, which a super-cool foil pattern and design. Personally, I'd rather have the Special Illustration Rare (see below) but this one is definitely going to be on your hit list.
Charizard - Base Set Holo
Base Set Charizard makes another return for a special anniversary set and whilst Charizard-fatigue might be setting in for a few fans, this is still going to be one of the all-time-cards to pull. It might not be as exclusive as previously, especially considering we've had it reprinted in both Celebrations and then also the Classic Card Set.
However nostalgia is always a hit, and nothing quite says Pokemon TCG than the Base Set Charizard.
Pikachu - Base Set Holo
The only other card from returning from the original Pokemon Base Set is the Pikachu card. This card was super-common in Base Set, but it now returns as a holo in the Classic subset of 30th Anniversary.
There are alot of Pikachu in this set. Hopefully you like electric-types!
Jirachi ex - Special Illustration Rare
You can't go wrong with pulling a Special Illustration Rare card and 30th Celebration has some absolute banger cards.
The legendary Pokemon Jirachi ex makes our list for it's beautiful cosmic artwork. Even though Jirachi was a 3rd generation Pokemon, it still now feels as old as the original Pokemon released way back in 1996.
Mew ex - Special Illustration Rare
Mew gets a lot of love in 30th Celebration Set but the Special Illustration Rare card has to be the best-looking card of the set.
Mew, the hidden 151st Pokemon of the 1st generation, captivated fans by being hidden secretly in the original games on the Nintendo Gameboy. It seems this hidden mechanic might also have been used in this set...
Mewtwo ex - Special Illustration Rare
The best looking Mewtwo card for a while (at least since the Pokemon GO set was released!). As a Special Illustration Rare it's going to be super hard to pull, but it for sure will be a top hit on marketplaces when the cards start to circulate.
Lugia - E-Reader Series Holo
We haven't had any E-Reader reprints in forever, and the Lugia card from the WoTC set Aquapolis is making a return for the 30th Celebration set.
The artwork isn't 100% the original but the new version is still a beautiful nostalgia hit. Aquapolic was the second E-Reader set released for Pokemon TCG featuring many second-generation Pokemon.
Articuno - Illustration Rare
With 18 Illustration Rare cards included in 30th Celebration, it was very difficult to choose just a couple. We've gone for the Legendary bird Articuno, who missed out on being included in the 25th Celebrations Set when that was released.
Moltres - Illustration Rare
Moltres is next (but we could have chosen Zapdos too!) in our list and hopefully this card won't be too hard to pull due to it's Illustration Rarity.
Hopefully you've got plenty of top-loaders and penny sleeves for this set- there's too many good cards!
Pikachu - Rare Holo
We'll finish on a card that isn't going to be super-rare but is an interesting take on the original Base Set Pikachu.
There are over 30 different Pikachu cards to collect in 30th Celebrations, all with varying art-styles and poses.
