Catching Guide - All Bugs - IdleOn

Catching is a World 2 Skill that you can pick up from Yum-Yum Desert, allowing you to catch various bugs all over IdleOn. Bugs are mainly used in crafting new items, but can also be valuable resources for upgrading your IdleOn account progression.

Catching uses Catching Nets to catch bugs and works similarly to Mining and Chopping. You'll find various Bug Nests all over IdleOn worlds and you need the required Catching Efficiency in order to successfully catch.

The best classes for catching are Archers, as they have unique skills that help boost Catching Efficiency and their main stat AGI also contributes towards Catching.

How Catching Works

Catching Nests

To begin Catching bugs, you'll need to find a Catching Nest and meet the required Catching Efficiency target. You can view this from the AFK window.

A minimum of 5% Catching Efficiency is needed for each Bug Nest.

A bug nest must first be destroyed before it can be used to catch bugs. The more damage you deal to a nest, the higher the catching bonus will be.

Like other skills, there is also a Catching Mini-Game that requires you to successfully navigate through hoops.

The following stats also contribute towards boosting Catching:

Multi-Bug Chance	Chance to gain multiple bugs on successful net swings
Catching Speed	How fast you swing your catching net.

Skill EXP	Improves your skill EXP rate
Skill Efficiency	Improves your Skill Efficiency

Bug Catching Mini Game

Fly

Each day you get 5 tries at playing the Bug Catching Mini-Game. You can initiate it by going up to an Bug Nest and clicking the Play Game option.

The Bug Catching Mini-Game is like those old-school Flappy-Bird type games. You simply click to gain elevation and try to guide your fly through the hoops.

You can boost the amount of Mini-Game plays you get per day by purchasing the Daily Minigame Plays from the Gem Shop. For 150 Gems, you get an additional +4 tries.

The Bug Catching Mini-Game will reward you with EXP and Bugs based on your score and the Bug's Nest you initiated the game from.
