Farming Guide - IdleOn

Farming is a skill found in World 6 Spirited Valley where you grow crops on plots of land. Each crop you successfully grow will give your IdleOn account plenty of bonuses, as well as used to upgrade other areas of the game like Alchemy Bubbles.

To begin Farming, head to Spirited Valley and click on the Compost bag.

Your Farming Skill Level is shared between all IdleOn Characters.

Farming Overview

Farming involves planting seeds on plots of land and letting them grow into crops. You'll start off with a couple of plots of land, but you can purchase more as you progress.

To plant seeds, you need to select a Seed Type from the Compost Bag NPC. Seed Types are locked by your Farming Skill Level.

You then use the Handyman Tools from the Compost Bag to plant the seeds. Once planted, all you have to do is wait for them to fully mature into crops.

Once a seed has grown into a crop, you can harvest it and the item will be deposited into your Crop Depot.

The Crop Depot can be found on the left side of Spirited Valley next to the Compost Bag. Here it will display the Day Market, Night Market and Crop Depot sections.

Evolving Plants

To discover new crops, you will need to evolve a crop. When you grow a crop for the first time, it has a % chance to evolve into the next crop in that Seed's list of crops. You can see the chance by using the Crop Info tool in the Compost Bag.

The crop it will evolve into will always be the next in line of that Seed's list of crops. So for the Basic Seed, the Tomato will first evolve into an Orange, then the Orange will evolve into a Lemon.

If you want to farm a specific type of crop, you can use the Lock Crop tool from the Handyman Tools section in the Compost Bin. This will prevent any Evolution.

Once a crop has evolved, you'll want to harvest it so that the next time it grows it has another chance to then evolve into the next crop.

Collecting all the crops will add bonuses to your Crop Depot Scientist, found next to the Crop Depot NPC. You'll also use specific types of crops to upgrade various bonuses in the Day Market.

Day Market

The Day Market found at the Crop Depot NPC allows you to spend any crops you have harvested on upgrades. These upgrades include adding more Plots of Land, faster growth time and other bonuses.

The type of crop needed for each upgrade will change as you upgrade and also the quantity. This is where you'll need to Lock Crops so you can farm a specific amount to upgrade your Farming Skill.

Night Market

The Night Market also offers upgrades, but it uses Magic Beans to upgrade the bonuses. The types of bonuses unlock after you have harvested a certain amount of unique crops.

To get Magic Beans, you need to purchase a Crop Transfer Ticket from the World 6 Vendor. You can only purchase one a day.

You'll then need to head to Troll Broodnest map and speak to Legumulyte NPC in the corner. Drop your Crop Transfer Ticket on top of him and he'll give you Magic Beans based on the amount of crops you currently have stored in your Crop Depot.

This will wipe out all the crops you have harvested, but you can then use the Magic Beans to upgrade bonuses in the Night Market.

The amount of Magic Beans is based on the rarity and quantity of crops you have harvested in total.

Overgrowth Crops

From the Night Market, you can unlock the Overgrowth ability.

For each cycle a crop grows, it has a chance to become Overgrown, which doubles the EXP and the amount of crops you harvest. This can stack infinite amount of times, but the chance to overgrow becomes smaller and smaller with each successful overgrowth.

Once a crop is fully grown, you'll be able to see the chance of Overgrowth using the Crop Info tool from the Compost Bin.

Land Ranks

From the Night Market, you can also unlock the Land Ranks ability.

Each plot in your Farm has it's own Land Rank, that increases based on the amount of successful harvests.

You can view the Land Rank of each Plot via the Compost Bag.

You can then also spend points on various Land Rank bonuses via the Handyman Tools and selecting Land Ranks. These give higher chance for evolution, faster growth speed and so on.

Crop Depot Scientist

Finally, you can unlock the Crop Depot Scientist from the Jade Emporium.

The Crop Depot Scientist will give you permanent account-wide bonuses based on the total amount of unique crops you have discovered and harvested.

There are several other bonuses to unlock via the Jade Emporium that boost the Crop Depot Scientist.

Each seed is unlocked at a specific Farming Skill Level.

Farming Market Upgrades

The Day Market is where you can spend any crops you have harvested on various upgrades for your Farming Skill.

Each upgrade will cycle through the crop types, increasing the quantity you need as you upgrade.

The Night Market uses Magic Beans to upgrade its bonuses.

Crop Depot Scientist

The Crop Depot Scientist is unlocked from the Jade Emporium.

There are several unlocks you can purchase from the Jade Emporium, with each one giving a new account-wide stat based on the total amount of crops you have harvested.

Land Rank Database

The Land Rank Database unlocks once you purchase it from the Night Market.

This allows each plot of land to have it's own Land Rank, which increases based on successful harvests. The higher a Land Rank, the higher the bonuses from the Land Rank Database.

You can find the Land Rank Database from the Handyman Tools. Here you can spend Rank Points on various upgrades.

You get 1 Rank Point per Land Rank for each of your plots.
