Sailing - IdleOn

Sailing is a skill you learn in World 5 Smolderin Plateau, where you send off boats to find Treasure Chests that have a chance to contain rare artifacts.

As well as Artifacts, you also gain new Sailing Resources that can be used to upgrade other areas of IdleOn like Alchemy!

Your Sailing Level is shared among all characters on your account.

How Sailing Works

In Sailing you send off boats equipped with Captains to various Islands that return with Treasure Chests that contain various resources. These Treasure Chests also have a chance to find Artifacts, which when found give a permanent account-wide boost to all your IdleOn characters.

You start with 4 Captain slots and 4 Boats, and you can unlock up to 20 of each as you progress.

You can purchase Captains from the Captain Recruitment Area on the right of Magma Rivertown, where each day 4 random Captains will be made available for purchase. Each Captain has a random stat assigned to it that can help you with the Sailing game.

You then assign Captains to a boat by dragging your Captain onto one of the boats in your dock, making it available to begin sailing. You can remove a Captain from the main Sailing UI and selecting the Trash Icon.

Then open up the Sailing map and assign a boat to a destination to travel to. In the beginning, only one Island is available to find. The other Islands must be discovered by removing the Cloud that surrounds them.

You then just need to wait for your boat to return home. There are several Sailing Stats to look out for including your Sailing Speed stat, Sailing Level, Boat stats and Captain Stats.

When a boat returns from an Island, it will deposit the Treasure Chest in your Loot Pile. Treasure Chests can be upgraded to higher rarity versions that have a higher chance of giving Artifacts and more resources.

You can also upgrade your boats using the resources you find whilst Sailing, they improve Sailing Speed and Sailing Loot chance.

Captains will passively level up the longer they are Sailing, which increases their stats that help with Sailing.

Sailing Artifacts

Here are all the Artifacts you can find in Sailing.

Each Artifact has four versions to unlock. You must first unlock the ability to find upgraded artifacts, then you will have to find the upgraded artifact from Sailing.

• Basic (default)
• Ancient (default)
• Eldritch - The Rift 31
• Sovereign - Jade Emporium

You will need to find all versions of an Artifact in order to upgrade it (i.e. you cannot go from Basic to Sovereign).

You can add 3 additional Artifacts to The Edge island by unlocking Brighter Lighthouse Bulb from the Jade Emporium.

Sailing Islands

There are a total of 15 different Islands to visit. Each Island gives a common resource and a rare resource, as well as having it's own Artifacts to find.

Each Island has it's own distance stat, which will make a boat take longer to find Treasure Chests.

Every Island gives Gold Bars.

Sailing Captains

Captains appear in the Sailing Recruitment area every 24 hours. 

There are a total of 7 different Captains you can get. Each Captain will increase the minimum and maximum stat level they get assigned.

A captain can have any 2 of the following stats, with the range based on it's tier.

The Endercaptain is unlocked from the Jade Emporium, and it'll only start appearing once unlocked. It also gives an extra account wide bonus of +25% Loot Multi and Artifact Find.

Captains will passively level up the more Sailing journeys they complete, increasing their stats.

Sailing Boats

Your Sailing Boats can be upgraded using Resources found from Sailing. There are a total of 20 Boats you can unlock, and each Boat Slot has a specific resource needed to upgrade it's stats.

Sailing Treasure Chests

Sailing Treasure Chests are added to your Loot Pile when a Captain makes a full complete journey.

You can store up to 5 chests in your Loot Pile by default, but this can be upgraded by:

• World 5 Merit Shop
• Chest Sluggo from the Gem Shop

A Treasure Chest be upgraded to higher rarity versions by having your Siege Breaker skill Unending Loot Search maxed:

When Loot Pile is almost full, ships can upgrade previous chests instead of filling Pile.

In the Sailing UI, you can also select a Minimum Chest limit, so that only a specific rarity or above gets added to your Loot Pile.

Each Chest has a base rate for bringing back Treasure Resources and finding Artifacts.
