Choppin Guide - IdleOn

Choppin is a skill in IdleOn that allows you to gather different types of logs, mostly used for crafting items. Choppin is available in World 1, and is likely one of the early skills you pick up and learn.

All classes can learn Choppin, however the best class to learn the Choppin skill is the Mage class, as their main stat WIS contributes heavily towards Choppin Efficiency and they also have several skills to aid with the Choppin' Skill.

The Choppin class uses special Hatcher Tools to help chop down various tress in IdleOn, which can be found throughout all the different worlds of IdleOn.

How Choppin Works in IdleOn

Choppin works by interacting with a "choppable" tree on specific maps. A Choppable Tree will be clickable, and once you interact with it your IdleOn Character will automatically begin Chopping it down.

Depending on your Choppin' Efficiency stat, you'll then start to see logs drop from the tree. Each type of tree will drop a different log; as you increase your Choppin Level and Efficiency, you'll be able to chop down higher level trees.

If you AFK, when you return all logs you have earned will drop on the floor.

Logs are the primary resource you'll earn from Choppin, but you can also earn other materials such as Leafs, Statues and other item drops.

Logs are then used mostly for Crafting at the Anvil.

Tree Types and Logs

Whilst you can begin Choppin in World 1 with the basic Oak Tree, you'll also find trees throughout the other different worlds of IdleOn.

Below you can find a list of all trees and logs you can earn from them.

To be able to chop at a particular tree, you need to meet the Choppin' Efficiency requirements. If you use the AFK Window, you can see the requirements for any tree you click on.

You need at least 5% Choppin Efficiency to have a chance at getting a log from that tree (which is actually 2.5% of 100% required).

Choppin Mini-Game

Choppin Mini Game

Each day you get 5 tries at playing the Choppin Mini-Game. You can initiate it by going up to an Tree and clicking the Play Game option.

In the Choppin Mini-Game, you need to chop only when the green leaf is above either the green or yellow segments of the bar. Green gives +1 point and Yellow gives +2.

For each successful chop, the speed of the mini-game increases. You can earn EXP, Logs and Leafs from playing the Mini-Game.

You can boost the amount of Mini-Game plays you get per day by purchasing the Daily Minigame Plays from the Gem Shop. For 150 Gems, you get an additional +4 tries.
