The Royal Guardian was released on 25th August 2026 for Patch V1.20.
To become a Royal Guardian, you need a Divine Knight class that is at least Level 600 in IdleOn. You'll also need to have advanced to World 6 Spirited Valley.
Job Advance to Royal Guardian

Take your Divine Knight character to the World 6 map Troll Playground and speak to Masterius to start the Masterclass Quest.

You'll then need to take your Divine Knight to the map Valley Of The Beans (World 1) and get a score of 250 using your Orb of Remembrance Talent before it disappears. Each kill you get gives you +1 point to the Orb, which is displayed on top of the Orb.
If you're struggling to get 250, you can upgrade your Orb of Remembrance Talent using Talent Library Books in World 3. Pushing your Divine Orb talent past it's max level will allow it to last longer, allowing you to reach the 250 Kills target easier.
Another Talent to boost is Divine Intervention, which will instantly respawn all mobs in the map when you kill all mobs on the map.
Any Spawn Boosting equipment you have also can help, especially equipment like Keychains obtained from Dungeons. And make sure to add down your Undead Shrine which adds passive Respawn Boost.
Once you reach 250, head back to Masterius to complete the Masterclass Quest and advance to Royal Guardian.
Royal Guardian Overview

Like other Masterclasses, you will restart at the beginning of World 1 and progress steadily through the rest of the worlds.
Unlike other Masterclasses, your damage and other equipment stats all stays, so it's well worth equipping your new Royal Guardian with the Prehistoric Equipment set.
Royal Guardian earns Talent points through upgrades in the Royal Armory and Lil' Orblet shop, not through Leveling up.
Outposts

The Royal Guardian Masterclass requires you to build Outposts on maps scattered throughout IdleOn.

To build Outposts, you need to clear a specific amount of mobs on the map (with each mob count requirement shown in the top-left corner).
Each Outpost can then be used to collect resources passively from the Resource Nodes located on the World Map.
These resources are then used to upgrade your Royal Guardian using the Royal Armory.
Each Resource on a map has a limited supply; when an Outpost exhausts the supply, you'll have to wait for the Daily Reset for it to replenish.
Some Outposts can only be unlocked by hiring Militia (Royal Armory upgrade) that passively kill monsters for you even when you're AFK.
Royal Armory

The Royal Armory can be accessed by assigning the Royal Amory talent to your Attack bar; clicking it opens up a set of upgrades you can spend resources on.
Upgrades become available as you spend resources, so you'll want to be spending resources evenly across all upgrades in order to unlock newer upgrades (thus allowing you to progress faster!).
Royal Castle

Use the talent Castle Convene to teleport to the Royal Castle map.
The Royal Castle holds Marble Statues, one for each world in IdleOn. Each Marble Statue gives an account-wide boost for all your characters. Each Marble Statue can then be further enhanced using special drops called Parchment of Enchantments.
AFK Royal Guardian
The Royal Guardian doesn't have much AFKing options currently, so you're going to have to play it actively to progress (however, future upgrades may unlock new AFK mechanics).
Once you unlock Militia units, they will passively kill mobs for you even when AFK.
However, Orblets, Marbles or Parchments of Enchantment items, all require active kills (for now at least!).
Royal Guardian World 1 Guide

World 1 (Blunder Hills) is where every Royal Guardian starts out. If you open up the map, you'll notice that it has been upgraded to show different Resource bundles, map icons show skulls on them and there are new tabs attached to the top of the map.
You'll want to focus first on Unlocking Outposts on all the maps in World 1.
Unlock Outposts

Your first task is to start building Outposts. An Outpost can only be built on maps that show the skull icon.
You can jump between World 1 maps as you please, but it's best to follow the linear path (easier mobs to harder mobs) as the resources you need are unlocked in that order for your Royal Armory.
Your first Outpost at Spore Meadows is unlocked by default and you'll want to start collecting the Bundle Of Hay resources first.

Next, you need to wait until you have enough resources to upgrade the Solo Militia Status upgrade in the Royal Armory (you only need about 3 total upgrades to unlock it). This upgrade allows your active kills to count towards unlocking Outposts.
The second Outpost you should unlock is at Froggy Fields. You need to defeat 200 mobs to unlock it; once all mobs are defeated a giant button will appear in the top-left corner saying Build Outpost. Now you continue through all the maps in World 1 and build as many Outposts as possible.

To boost your kill rate, you'll want to spend as many Talent Points into Warbound Politics. At Talent Level 270, you can get a 3x Kill Rate!
![]()
Other useful Talents are Guardian Disciple, who spawns Regal Mobs; these mobs count as +2 kills (depending on your Orb of Verismilitude talent). Regal Intervention can also spawn Regal Mobs when Divine Intervention triggers.
However, early on it's best to put most of your points into Warbound Politics until you obtain more Royal Guardian Talent Points.
For unlocking Outposts, try having your Talent setup like this:
- Castle Convene (+10)
- Royal Armory (+10)
- Guardian Disciple (+10)
- Regal Intervention (+10)
- Orb of Verismilitude (+10)
- Warbound Politics (+275)
- Lil' Orblets (+10)
![]()
You want at least 1 point in Lil' Orblets so you can start obtaining Orblet drops (+1 every 1,000 kills) to spend in Lil Orblet's Shop
Collecting World 1 Resources
Collecting resources is vital for upgrading your Royal Armory and speeding up the progression of your Royal Guardian. Collecting is done passively (so you can AFK).
To collect resources, select the Collect Resources tab on the World Map and drag a yellow line to the nearest Resource Node.

You want to unlock the Royal Armory upgrade Resource Replenish as soon as possible, as it will replenish all Resources every day. As you complete World 1, you will eventually be able to collect all the resources on the map easily.
When you're not actively playing reset all your Royal Guardian Talent Points and spend them in Resource Collection talents so that it increases the amount of resources you get when AFK.
To reset a talent, hold down on the Talent for 2+ seconds and the Talent Points will be reset, allowing you to spend them on other skills.

In World 1, you can boost your Resource Collection rate by the following:
- [Talent] Castle Convene
- [Talent] Royal Armory
- [Talent] Industrial Politics
- Upgrading Outposts
- [Lil' Orblet Shop] Hydration
- [Royal Armory] Resource Replenish
- [Royal Armory] Wonderful Workers
When it comes to upgrading your Outposts, you should save your Outpost PTS for the Expanded Barracks upgrade. This will give you an additional unit for that Outpost, allowing greater resource collection rate than if you just upgraded Advanced Logistics.
There are enough maps in World 1 that means you can comfortable collect all the resources without needing to increase the connection range.
Militia Units

You may have noticed that there are several maps in World 1 that have the skull icon but no mobs to kill. The only way to build Outposts on these map is to hire Militia Units.

In the Royal Armory, you can upgrade Blunder Hills Militia. You get 1 Militia unit per upgrade, and you'll want to unlock as many as you can to help get unlock all the non-mob Outposts.
You can get around 3 Militia units early on that will help speed through these maps.
To place a Militia unit on a locked map, open the World Map and select Move Units tab. You'll find your Militia automatically placed in the first Blunder Hills map; click on the Icon and drag them to any map that you want to unlock.
You can also use Militia units to unlock maps that have mobs on too, so if you don't want to actively unlock maps this is an easy AFK way of doing so.

Militia Units kill rate is affected by the Warbound Politics talent.
Spending Orblets
![]()
Hopefully you've added some points into your Lil Orblet talent so that whenever you hit 1,000 kills you get an Orblet drop. You can then spend these Orblets in the Lil Orblet Shop (see below).
To unlock the other Orblet upgrades, you need at least 1 level in the previous upgrade.
One of the best Lil Orblet upgrades is the Bargain upgrade. This lowers the amount of resources needed to upgrade the Royal Armory, allowing you to progress faster. The discounts can become quite juicy, so well worth saving up the Orblets for this.
Hydration is easy to upgrade early on, as it doesn't require too many Orblets and at Level 20 it gives +100% collection rate.
Glorification is also one of the best but it's wasted on early-game Outposts (it gives +10 PTS, 2x EXP and an additional unit). I'd ignore Glorification for now (it's a 10% chance to upgrade your Outposts) until you reach World 2 and World 3.
How To Unlock World 2

World 2 is unlocked via the Royal Armory upgrade Kingdom Expansion 2 (upgrade #18).
You'll need to obtain Cloud resource to purchase this upgrade, which can be obtained by building outposts at Tucked Away and Where The Branches End maps.
Militia units do not carry over to World 2 (you'll need to unlock those from the Royal Armory upgrades).
Royal Castle: Marble Statues

Use the Talent Castle Convene to teleport to the Royal Castle.
The Royal Castle has 7 different Marble Statues that you can unlock. Each one offers a permanent account-wide boost.
To unlock a Marble Statue, you need to collect Marble items from mobs for that specific world. A Marble item only drops from mobs where an Outpost has been built.
You need at least one upgrade in the Royal Marble armory upgrade to Marbles to start dropping.
Clicking on a Marble Statue gives you the opportunity to unlock the statue; 1 Marble = 1 chance.
Once a Marble Statue is unlocked, you can also Enhance it using Parchments of Enchantment, which drop from the Rat mobs.
Marble Statues
Here are the current Marble Statues you can unlock.
| Statue | World | Bonus | Chance | Enhance |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Heracles the Mighty | Blunder Hills (World 1) | 3x Total Damage | 1 in 50 | 1 in 30 |
| Plutus the Prosperous | Yum-Yum Desert (World 2) | 1.5x Drop Rate | 1 in 50 | 1 in 40 |
| Ymir the Frostborne | 1 in 100 | |||
| Minerva the Resolute | 1 in 250 | |||
| Hephaestus the Unbroken | 1 in 500 | |||
| Odin the Shrouded | 1 in 1,000 | |||
| Neptune the Unforgiving | 1 in 2,500 |
Marble Drop Chance
You can increase the drop rate chance of Marble items using the following upgrades:
- [Talent] Aesthetic Politics
- [Royal Armory] Royal Marble
Parchments of Enchantment

Parchment of Enchantments drop from giant Verminous mobs and are used to upgrage Marble Statues.
These mobs spawn at the bottom of the Royal Castle; however your damage is not affected by equipment and can only be boosted by Royal Armory upgrades.
You must actively kill these mobs (no AFKing).
You can increase your damage dealt to them by upgrading the Anti-Rodent Power Move I in the Royal Armory.
Verminous have a 1 in 1,000 chance of dropping Parchments of Enchantments. These items can be used to upgrade the Marble Statues.
This is an end-game activity, so you're best leaving the farming of Verminous until you unlock more upgrades that help you kill them faster.
Statue Flairs
The Statue Man in World 1 also got a new upgrade with the Royal Guardian Masterclass.
You can now spend Marble items on upgrading Statue Flairs. Statue Flairs increase the amount of EXP you earn when depositing statues to the Statue Man, allowing you to level them up at extraordinary rates!
Each statue needs a specific Marble to upgrade it; it is recommended to only start upgrading flairs once you have unlocked the corresponding Marble Statue in the Royal Castle.

Here is an overview of all the Royal Guardian Talents you get.

Each Outpost has a Rank that can be upgraded by earning EXP; EXP is earned by changing the units in the Expanded Barracks to Traders.

You can earn Outpost PTS through these ways:
- [Royal Armory] Blunder Outpost PTS (+1 PTS per upgrade)
- [Royal Armory] Trading Rank (+1 PTS per upgrade)
- Increasing the Outpost Rank (+1 PTS per rank, +1 PTS per 10 Ranks)
- [Lil Orbit's Shop] Glorification (+10 PTS)
A Trader unit will generate EXP passively to level up your Outpost Rank. A Trader has a lower collection rate.
You can increase the amount of EXP a Trader generates using the Royal Armory Tremendous Traders upgrade.
Each Outpost Rank gives +1 Outpost PTS and an extra point for every 10 levels.
