Below you can find a list of all the Pokemon available in Mightywide River in New Pokemon Snap. Mightywide River has both day and night versions; they were both added to the game after it's official release as new content for free, including several new Pokemon.

Night course is unlocked once you reach Level 2 in the Day course.

Mightywide River Pokemon List

Mightywide River consists of three different research levels and has two themes: Day and Night. You will see different Pokemon at different levels and only some interactions are available at specific levels.

Below we've created a table of all the Pokemon in Mightywide River, including their location and any interactions you need to perform in order to get them to appear.

You can find Psyduck being chased by Aipom on your left after seeing the Feraligatr burst out of the water.
You can also find Psyduck at the end of the course and swimming down the stream next to you.

Aipom will chase Psyduck in Level 1 and Level 2.
Level 2 - Aipom can be seen running along the mountain side.
Level 3- Right at the beginning you can see Aipom. There is a hidden Aipom on your right; if you throw a Fluffruit at it, it will join Sobble and Grookey on their journey and can be seen at the end of the course sleeping.

(level 1) As you drop down the river, you can find one on your right sleeping on a branch. Nearby in the bushes are several more.  
Swampert

You can find them sleeping on the side of the river on your left. There is also one hiding in the water, which if you throw an Illumina Orb at it, it will appear.
You can get three Swampert to show up at the end of the course by throwing Illumina Orbs at the Swampert in the water on your way down. Their locations are: One between the Crystalboom Waterfall area and the Venasaur platform.
One by the entrance to the alternative route.
One next to the Crystalbloom that is used to summon Toucannon.

Once all three have been Illuminated, throw an Illumina Orb at water bubbles on your left at the end of the course and three Swampert will jump out.

Tropius can be found at the end of the course.
Level 2 - They will start appearing at the beginning of the course too. They also appear on a platform in the middle of the course on your right.
 
Arbok

Level 3 - Arbok can be seen in the water at the beginning of the stage. If you throw an Illumina Orb at him, and then Scan, he will jump out of the water. He will then appear next to Psyduck and fight off the Ursaring. Throw an Illumina Orb at Arbok here and he will then appear at the end of the course too.
He also appears sleeping on a branch after going down the first water fall. If you use Scan, you can knock him into the water and he will then appear on the platform with the Tropius.
 
Wooper

Joins Grookey and Sobble at the beginning of the course in Level 2.
Can also be seen halfway through the course next to Psyduck in Level 2.

Wooper will appear at the end of the level by throwing an Illumina Orb in the bubbles on the left hand side of the Island.

Level 2- Will join Fraligatr bursting out of the water at the beginning of the course.
Level 3 - can be seen sleeping next to Swampert and also swimming downstream

Also can be seen on a branch in the area just after the Fraligatr bursts out of the water.

Can be seen in Jungle and River Pattern at the end of the course.

 
Ursaring

Day Level 3 Ursaring will appear next to the Psyduck as you go past the Fraligatr area.
He will also appear on the branch sleeping; you can knock him into the water using Scan and he will then appear with the Venasaur.
You can also find him sleeping just before you go down the second waterfall; press music to wake him up and he will appear at the end of the course sleeping next to Grookey and co.

Day Level 3 Venasaur can be seen on a platform on your right after the sleeping Ursaring on the branch.  
Drilbur

Day Level 3 Drilbur can be seen above the sleeping Swampert.
You can also get Swampert to appear next to the Toucannon that appears when you Illuminate the Crystalbloom at the second waterfall. Play music and Drilbur will jump out.
To get Drilbur to appear at the start of the course, you need to throw an Illumina Orb at the swimming Arbok and then once it surfaces, use scan and Arbok will jump out of the water, causing Drilbur to appear.
 
Gyrados

Gyarados can be seen after the first waterfall and pass the sleeping Ursaring. Throw an Illumina Orb at the Crystalbloom behind the fountain and it will spawn Gyrados.

Gyrados can also appear at the end of the course by first throwing an Illumina Orb at the Crystalbloom behind the waterfall. Then hit the next Crystalbloom that summons the Toucannon. At the end of the course Gyarados will swim down behind you.

You can find Cleffa in the Alternative Route through the cave.

The Vivillon at the end of the course can be gotten by scanning the two sets of Beautiflys from the vines (one at the start of the course and another set near the entrance to the cave). The Vivillon will fly near the Ursaring drinking water (not directly at the end of the course- the pin is a bit wonky!)

You can get two more Vivillon to appear in the middle of the course by waking up the Ledian behind the vines. These Vines are to the right of the entrance to the alternative route cave. Once they've woken up, they'll fly off; keep looking behind you as you go down the river to see the Vivillon fly out.

You can find Wooper marching out on your left at the beginning of the level.

You can  get Wooper in the alternative route cave by throwing a Fluffruit at Wooper in the stream just after the first waterfall. It will go find Psyduck on the right area; throw an Illumina Orb at the pair of them and then they will both jump back into the river. They will then both appear in the cave. (I did this on Level 1).

You can find Psyduck at the beginning of the level on your left just before it jumps into the water.
You can  get Wooper in the alternative route cave by throwing a Fluffruit at Wooper in the stream just after the first waterfall. It will go find Psyduck on the right area; throw an Illumina Orb at the pair of them and then they will both jump back into the river. They will then both appear in the cave. (I did this on Level 1). If you don't take the alternative route, they will then appear next to the Quagsire by the Crystalbloom just after the second waterfall.

You can find Ariados at the beginning of the level on your right.
You can also find Ariados on your left just before the first waterfall.

You can find Quagsire on your left just before the first waterfall.
To get Quagsire to appear in the alternative route cave, you need to awaken the Ledian in the vines next to the entrance of the cave. This will cause Ursaring to come out and scare the Pokemon; which causes Psyduck to kick Quagsire into the water. Play Melody as you enter the cave and watch behind you as the Quagsire follows you in.

Two Ledian will appear at the Crystalbloom past the second waterfall if you Illuminate it.

There are also two Ledian hiding in the branch above the water at the beginning of the course just after the Feligatr appears.

Level 2 - You can find Aipom at the beginning of the level.
Aipom can be found on top of a cliff just after the waterfall with the Crystalbloom behind it on your left.

Night Level 2 Cleffa can be found in the alternative route in the cave.
You can also find one at the beginning of the level following the Wooper on your left.
 
Drilbur

Night Level 2 You can find Drilbur at the beginning of the level on your right.
You can get Drilbur to  show up at the end of the course by playing music near the two Drilbur that appear just after the second waterfall near the Ursaring.
You can get Drilbur to show up in the middle of the level by throwing a Fluffruit at the sleeping Quagsire after the first waterfall. Two Wooper will appear; throw Illumina Orbs at them and then hit scan. They will walk slowly and then a Drilbur will appear out of the ground.
 
Ursaring

Night Level 2 If you throw an Illumina Orb at the Aipom at the beginning of the level, they will go wake up Ursaring near the area just before the first waterfall.
You can find Ursaring just before the second waterfall crouching next to the river.
You can get Ursaring to come out in the middle of the map by throwing an Illumina Orb at the Ledian hidden behind the vines at the entrance to the alternative route.
 
Gyrados

Night Level 2 As you go down the first waterfall, on your right are two sleeping Magikarp and a Ledian. Use your scan to wake them up.
Next, Illuminate the Crystalbloom behind the waterfall and the Magikarp will slowly swim towards it. Keep watching and eventually a Gyrados will appear and swim up the waterfall.
 

 

Alternative Routes Mightywide River

You can unlock various alternative routes in New Pokemon Snap courses, leading you to find brand new Pokemon and get those unique diamond snaps. To unlock these routes, you will have to perform a variety of tasks:

  • The route into the cave only becomes available once you have unlocked it in the Night time zone.

  • Reach Level 2 on Night and then press scan to scare the Beautifly from the cave entrance. You'll then gain access to the cave route.
