Outaway Cave Pokemon Diamond Star List

Getting a Pokemon to Diamond Star is the best rank available for a Pokemon. The below lists shows whether you can get a Diamond snapshot of a Pokemon in that level.

You can change the Research Level of a course when you select it by pressing the X button on your Nintendo Switch.

Key Outaway Cave Interactions

In New Pokemon Snap, there are variety of different Pokemon you can take pictures of, with different ranks and ratings. You will need to use all the tools available to you in order to get the perfect shot and some of them can be easy to miss when doing a run-through of a course.

We highly recommend you complete the New Pokemon Snap main story before you try to get all the snaps, as you will unlock lots of useful features like Turbo Mode and Burst Mode that can make capturing specific shots of Pokemon a lot easier.

Outaway Cave

• You can get 1-star Diamond Clefairy by getting a center up-close shot of her when she's on the edge of the cliff in the cave (after the Gengar disappears).
• You can get a 1-Star Crogunk when it is doing it's strange call/dance as you descend into the cave.
• You can get a 4-star Diamond Gengar when it appears out of it's portal. You will need to throw an Illumina Orb for it to come out of the portal, then throw another one and Gengar will stick out it's long tounge to scare two Carbink
• You can find Jolteon in the alternative route in the crystal cave, hiding in the bushes.
• If you hit a Pumpkaboo with a Fluffruit, you can get the 3-star Diamond shot.
• Towards the end of the level is a sleeping Rampardos at the alternative route; take a snap for the 3-star Diamond Shot
• When you enter the first alternative route into the crystal cave, there are two Geodudes fighting. Throw an Illumina Orb at the one furthest from the edge and that Geodude will win the fight. Watch the Geodude shortly as it will then stand on it's arm for 4-star Diamond shot.
• Throw A Fluffruit at the Mawile to get 2-star Diamond snap.

Alternative Routes Outaway Cave

You can unlock various alternative routes in New Pokemon Snap courses, leading you to find brand new Pokemon and get those unique diamond snaps. To unlock these routes, you will have to perform a variety of tasks:

Outaway Cave

• The first alternative route unlocks during the storyline. It allows you to enter the Crystal Cave and requires Research Level 2.

• The second alternative route is inside the Crystal Cave. In order to access this route, you must get Diancie to come out by throwing three Illumina Orbs at the Pokemon on the ground (2 Carbink and 1 Mawile). When Diancie comes out, throw Illumina Orbs at her until she does her special light move. This will then allow you to use the second route; this action must be performed every time you want to use this route.
• Rimstone Path can be unlocked by taking the normal path towards the Rampardos. Just after you pass the alternative path to the Crystal Cave, you will see a Hydreigon. On your left will be a sleeping Crobat. Wake him up with an Illumina Orb. Now look upwards and you'll see another sleeping Crobat. Play some music and Gengar will wake it up, unlocking the new path.
