MapleStory Blaster Skill Build Guide

July 6, 2021

Blaster is a MapleStory class that relies on combo and animation-canceling skills to maximize damage and when done right, is a great DPS class to play. Blaster comes from the Resistance character classes and uses a gauge to produce strong combo skills that players will fill up as they deal damage. Blaster is a Warrior, so they utilize the STR stat whilst using a new weapon type called Arm Cannon.

Blaster Overview

Blaster was released in patch V.175 Heroes Of Maple in Global MapleStory, joining the Resistance class lineup that includes: Battle Mage, Wild Hunter, Mechanic, Xenon, Blaster, Demon Slayer and Demon Avenger. The class is known for having to hit multiple keys on your keyboard in order to maximize the damage it produces against Bosses; when done right, this class comes out on top as one of the best damage-dealing classes in MapleStory.

As a training class Blaster has some decent mobbing skills but is usually out performed by other newer classes. Blaster relies on using a combination of skills in order to deal damage, alternating between macro skills and activating Charge skills to keep up buff stacks. New players to the class won't need to optimize their load out to enjoy it- it's usually only when you enter 5th job and beyond will you start really needing to understand how Blaster works. It has great mobility with both a Flash Jump and a Vertical Jump and it's Hyper Skills allows it to float in mid-air for ever, allowing you to dodge some 1-hit KO attacks in end-game bosses like Lucid.

Blaster is best at bossing when players can utilize its combo attacks. Blaster has a few skills which give animation cancel- allowing the player to use one skill, cancel the animation and then spam it again. This allows Blaster to deal plenty of attacks in a short amount of time, giving them a powerful DPS position in the MapleStory DPS charts. It does take some learning to understand Blaster mechanics when it comes to bossing, but players shouldn't be put off. There are plenty of tutorials online that can help with this and you're more than likely to pick it intuitively as you play the class.
