MapleStory Thunder Breaker Skill Build Guide

March 27, 2024

Thunder Breaker is a Cygnus Knight class that packs a shocking punch with it's lightning-type skills. Thunder Breaker is a Pirate Job that uses Knuckle weapons to damage monsters in MapleStory and take on the toughest bosses available.

Originally limited to level 120, Thunder Breaker is now a fully-fledged job that is now as capable as any other MapleStory Class. Each Cygnus Knight class has it's own unique style, with Thunder Breaker being all about lightning attacks. Oh, and SHARKS!

Thunder Breaker Overview

All Cygnus Knights were revamped as part of the 2022 update V.237 Ignition! They increased their damage skills, improve mobility and added in some new storylines for you to follow.

Thunder Breaker was released in 2009 along with the four other Cygnus Knight classes as part of a selection of brand new jobs to MapleStory. They have gone through many revamps, including removing their level restrictions and giving them 5th job skills.

Thunder Breaker is a combo class where you combine skills to do more powerful attacks than if you use them on their own, allowing you to move across maps seamlessly and stacking up damage buffs. A part of Thunder Breaker gameplay is to stack up Charges, which will increase damage of certain attacks when you max them out. The class also gets a Shadow Partner type skill in 4th job, giving them plenty of damage lines and allowing them to power through the early 1-200 levels.

They get a native Speed Infusion skill in 4th job, allowing them to save a slot in the V-Matrix. There is some clunkiness to their play-style in 4th job, due to skill animation delay that can interrupt the flow of the class when training.

Bossing wise, Thunder Breaker have medium-to-low DPS and not much burst damage either. They are an easy class to play without much micromanaging and with their ability to produce lots of lines they can be really strong if they are over-funded. Whilst the party-wide skill of Speed Infusion is nice, the addition of Decent Speed Infusion has made this skill pretty much irrelevant now.
