MapleStory Mechanic Skill Build Guide

February 19, 2024

Mechanic is a Resistance class in which you control a humanoid mech robot and use it to wipe out maps full of mobs in MapleStory. Mechanic is one of the best mobbing classes in the game due to its ability to cast summons on even the largest of maps, hitting all available mobs. With improvements being made to its mobility, Mechanic is now a fun class to play.

Mechanic Overview

Mechanic was released in 2011 in patch V95 in Global MapleStory. Mechanic is part of the Resistance set of MapleStory classes, which include: Battle Mage, Wild Hunter, Mechanic, Xenon, Blaster, Demon Slayer and Demon Avenger. Mechanic is also a Pirate class, so they get access to shared 5th job pirate skills and utilize the DEX stat.

Mechanics are known for being able to clear out entire maps, making them one of the best classes to train with and farm on. Whilst they do possess some of the best mobbing skills, they do require a lot of funding to make them viable. Mechanic summons typically have low damage, so in order for them to one-shot mobs you need to pump up your stats to high levels. When you reach level 200 and get into 5th job, you start gaining damage a lot faster due to nodes and able to equip the latest end-game gear.

That being said, training from level 1-200 is still quite fun. They have mobbing skills which hit multiple enemies and deal lots of lines; a few attacking buffs will help you with damage, especially in Reboot Worlds. Mobility on Mechanics did suck for a long time, but they now have a flash jump like skill that makes getting around maps much easier. They are amazing at vertical maps with their Rocket Booster skill that allows them to jump to the top of the map.

Bossing wise Mechanics can hold their own. They provide a decent party buff with their Support Unit: H-EX and can switch to tank mode for single-target damage. They are not overpowered, so funding is still required to make them able to hit the end-game bosses. Their 5th job skill Full Metal Barrage is an i-frame for 8 seconds that can help you dodge 1-hit shots.
