MapleStory Kinesis Skill Build Guide

February 19, 2024

Kinesis is a MapleStory class that uses psychic power to control their surroundings to deal damage to mobs. Kinesis was the first class to use skills that incorporate MapleStory's skeleton animation engine, allowing for greater freedom with how skills behave. Kinesis has skills that allow you to grab mobs from platforms and use them to hit each other in mid-air! As a Magician, Kinesis relies on Int Equipment.

Kinesis Overview

Kinesis was released in patch v.169 - Kinesis in December 2015, incorporating as a background character to Friends Story. Kinesis starts out as a student at the School for Gifted, but once he gained his telekinetic powers, he left for the wider Maple World. Kinesis uses the Psy-Limiter weapon, relying on Magic Attack and INT stats to deal damage to mobs.

Kinesis is regarded as a strong mobbing class in MapleStory. Their Psychic skills allow them to grab monsters from platforms far away and they have an extremely large hit-box. Kinesis doesn't use MP like other Magicians, instead they have PP (Psychic Points). Regular psychic attacks generate PP for you to use other skills that consume it.

As a bossing class, Kinesis sits in the middle of the pack but does need some good funding to hit high amounts of damage at high-end bosses compared to other classes. They have some useful skills, including hyper i-frame skill with a 120 second cooldown and a 10 second bind. Kinesis relies on micro-managing their Psychic Points in order to unleash their Ultimate skills.

  • Weapon: Psy-limiter
  • Job: Magician
  • Class: Kinesis
  • Shared Cash Shop Inventory: Kinesis
  • Legion Block: +INT (10/20/40/80/100)
  • Link Skill: Judgement (+4% Critical Damage)

Kinesis First Job Skill Build

You can max all of your skills in first job. Follow this build:

  • ESP Booster (MAX)
  • Kinetic Crash (MAX)
  • Mental Fortitude (MAX)
  • Ultimate - Metal Press (MAX)
  • Psychic Force (MAX)
  • Mental Shield (MAX)

For a first job, Kinesis has a lot of skills! You get your attack booster and double jump skill all early on, making the class very mobile and fast! Kinetic Crash is your main attack; this will charge your PP and then you can use them to use your Ultimate - Metal Press skill. More than likely you'll level really fast during the first job advancement that you'll hardly use your Ultimate, so best to max that last. ESP Booster is your attack speed booster and Psychic Force is a push-back skill with damage-over-time effects. Metal Press is actually very useful during bossing because it provides better DPS than other ultimates when maxed from 5th job nodes.

The Psychic skills have varying degrees of usefulness; perhaps Psychic Drain is the most useful with a 15-second duration that helps increase PP restoration. Your Ultimate launches you across the map, so it can feel a bit clunky to use in small maps.
