MapleStory's Interactive World allows players to buy cubes with real money, allowing those with deep pockets to get stronger faster. For free-to-play players, many opt to join Heroic Worlds where you can buy cubes for mesos. However, you can also earn free cubes in Interactive World using a number of different methods.
- Bossing
- Meso Market
- MapleStory Events
- Crafting Cubes
- Legion Coin Shop
- MapleStory Daily Gift
- MapleStory Reward Shop Cubes
This guide aims to explore all the different ways you can earn Cubes in MapleStory Interactive Worlds / Regular Servers without spending any NX.
When it comes down to it, the amount of time you'll spend earning free cubes is better off spent playing Heroic Worlds. However, if you don't like the trading restrictions that come with playing Heroic Servers, or you've just invested too much time into Interactive Worlds, then this guide is for you.
Cubes are very important for getting Potential Stats on your gear in MapleStory.
Bossing

Bossing is by far the best way to get free cubes in Interactive Servers.
When you first begin your MapleStory journey, bossing is going to be quite limited. You'll only be able to take down the daily bosses and maybe one or two weekly bosses.
Cubes that drop from bosses are very rare, and getting a regular supply of free cubes requires patience.Â
Daily Bosses

There are a total of 14 daily bosses you can do per day when you get enough damage. At Normal, Chaos and Hard modes, these daily bosses all drop three types of cubes:
- Mystical Cube - Max Rank: Epic (very common)
- Hard Cube - Max Rank: Unique (very rare)
- Solid Cube - Max Rank: Legendary (very rare)
With such a low drop rate, you're looking at maybe 1-2 Hard and Solid Cubes per 14 daily bosses.
You scale up this method by making multiple characters; all the daily bosses are early game bosses and the damage required to defeat them is insignificant. You can easily create 10 MapleStory Characters with basic gear over the course of a month.
If you do all your daily bosses on 10 characters, you'll start to see a nice supply of Hard and Solid Cubes (10-20 per day!) needed to reach max rank potential.
Weekly Bosses
Weekly Bosses are a lot stronger than daily bosses, but they drop cubes slightly more frequently.
Weekly Bosses drop all the same kind of cubes as dailies, but they also drop Bonus Mystical Cube, which allows you to start getting Bonus Potential on your gear up to Epic rank.
The same strategy applies; creating multiple boss mule characters that can take down these weekly bosses quickly. With the many MapleStory power creep mechanics now available, many players have created 10+ boss mules that can wipe out Weekly Bosses all the way up to Guardian Angel Slime.
It's not just cubes that come from the Weekly Bosses, but you can also sell the Boss Crystals that drop from them, giving you a good regular income of Mesos. You can then exchange mesos for Maple Points (see below) and use that to buy cubes.
Meso Market
The Meso Market allows you to sell or buy mesos for Maple Points.
Maple Points is another form of NX cash that can be used to buy CashShop items, including potential cubes.
At the time of writing this, it costs around 200M mesos for 1,000 Maple Points.
A weekly boss mule that can clear up to Guardian Angel Slime can expect to earn around 300M from Boss Crystals, so each week you can earn around 1 Glowing Cube per week.
Keep in mind that Glowing Cubes have a higher tier-up rate than Solid and Hard Cubes, generally speaking.
MapleStory Events

Every MapleStory patch there is generally some kind of event that allows you to earn points and spend them in an Event Shop.
Usually, these Event Shops contain cubes and other potential-related items that can help you rank up.
These items are limited in quantity, so you won't be able to go too hard, but most events offer a nice extra supply to help cube your gear.
Crafting Cubes

You can craft both Hard and Solid Cubes in Ardentmil using the Smithing profession.
Unfortunately, you are required to get Master Craftsman rank in order to be able to craft cubes, which can take a little while and has to be maintained (you lose your Master Craftsman rank over time if you do not craft any items).
However, both items require very few resources to make:
Hard Cube
- 20 Superior Item Crystals
- 5 Cube Fragments
- 5 Cubic Blade
- 10 Superior Abrasive
Solid Cube
- 30 Superior Item Crystals
- 10 Cube Fragments
- 5 Cubic Chaos Blade
- 15 Superior Abrasive
If you're an active MapleStory player, it's another method of getting cubes without spending NX!
Legion Coin Shop

The Legion Coin Shop also sells Karma Hard Cubes, which can be used on any gear that is Untradable (which happens to be most MapleStory gear).
Karma Hard Cubes cost 100 Legion Coins and you can buy up to 30 a week.
Karma Hard Cubes have a max rank of Unique.
MapleStory Daily Gift

You can contain a couple of CashShop Cubes (Glowing Cube, Bonus Glowing Cube and Bright Cube) from the Daily Gift.
Each day you need to defeat 300 monsters near your level.
If you're an MVP Rank, you can gain more cubes as a bonus.
MapleStory Reward Shop Cubes

Each month you can get up to 15 CashShop cubes by spending Maple Reward Points.
These CashShop cubes reset their limit at the beginning of each month.
- 5x Glowing Cube
- 5x Bright Cube
- 5x Bright Glowing Cube
