MapleStory Classic Release Date!

August 26, 2026

Following the conclusion of the latest Closed Online Test 2, MapleStory Classic finally has a release date and there is not long to wait!

MapleStory Classic will official release on October 21st 2026! You can also gain a 2-week head start by purchasing a Founder's Package pass and start playing on October 6th 2026.

Founders Package

Founder's Package will go on sale during 2nd September 2026, but we've not yet been told how much it will cost. The Founder's Package will also include special Cosmetic Items inspired by MapleStory Early Years.

Your progress during the Founder's Access period will also carry on over to the Grand Launch.

MapleStory Classic World Launch

Classic World

With MapleStory Classic World officially launching on October 21st, we've also been given some details on what we can expect gameplay wise.

If you managed to play Closed Online Test #2, you'll have been given access to Orbis, El Nath and the 3rd Job Advancement. However, this content will NOT be included at Launch.

During the Grand Launch, players will have access to Victoria Island only, including new content crafted specifically for MapleStory Classic (like Forgotten Hollow area). You'll also only have access to 2nd Job skills.

Mark Of The Beta

Mark Of Beta Classic World

The item Mark Of The Beta was a special hat given out to players who played the early version of MapleStory, way back in 2005. Many players have been wondering if this item will be returning.

You'll now be able to earn the Mark Of The Beta hat through a special quest in MapleStory Classic World. The quest is set to end sometime in November, so you'll have plenty of time to obtain it.

Microtransactions and Cashshop

In the MapleStory Ossyria Exploration Report, we also got a small update regarding how Nexon plans to monetenise MapleStory Classic.

They plan to only sell cosmetic and convenience items, rather than EXP Boosts (such as those 2x EXP Cards) and items that directly give character power upgrades.

Whether Nexon stick's to this plan is up for debate. Remember Reboot World anyone?

Class Changes and Balance Updates

MageThiefWarriorBowman

MapleStory Classic was announced over a year ago and since then they have run a number of small-scale tests, gathering player feedback and implementing changes over time.

MapleStory Classic is aimed at keeping the original feel of the early MapleStory version, however, there are significant changes being made to class skills. If you haven't been keeping up with all the micro-changes, you might find that your favourite class from back in the day has changed quite a lot.

The good news is that Nexon has responded to player feedback and has been buffing/nerfing skills along the way. Expect more changes to be released for the Founder's Access version.
