MapleCon details have just been released for what attendees can expect to find at this year's annual MapleStory real-life event and among the items was a public playtest of the upcoming MapleStory Classic world.
We recently got a brand new video showcasing off the last playtest of MapleStory Classic, which was limited to just 30 people.
Now they have announced a new Public Playtest for those attending MapleCon!
MapleCon has been announced for October 25th 2025 and is happening in Downtown LA at the THUNDER STUDIOS.
The first round of tickets go on sale on August 22nd and the second round is August 27th.
Ticket prices for this year's event have been increased considerably, with the Regular ticket going for $145 and the Premium Ticket going for $279.
To celebrate the 20th year anniversary of MapleStory, Inkwell (MapleStory GMS developer) mentioned that the increased cost was due to hosting a bigger venue with more events taking place.
MapleStory Classic Public Test
There were two juicy bits of information in the announcement regarding MapleStory Classic.
The first announcement is that attendees to MapleCon will get to play MapleStory Classic, being named the "FIRST public demo of GMS Classic World!". Attendees will likely be able to play on machines setup at the venue.
For those who won't be able to attend, you'll still want to tune in as there is going to be a MapleStory Classic Developer Panel, featuring Inkwell (GMS Directory) and Nemi (GMS Classic Directory).
This panel is likely to give us more concrete information on how MapleStory Classic is being shaped, including any changes they are making to the game.
Join Inkwell and Nemi to learn how GMS Classic World is being crafted as they share the inspiration and what Maplers can expect when it launches.
And who knows? Maybe a surprise launch date announcement???!!
MapleStory normally host Maple Fest on Twitch with a livestream of the event. Hopefully we can also expect the same for MapleCon.
MapleStory Winter Update Preview
Each MapleStory Fest has also previewed the upcoming Winter Update that drops around November time. It is one of the biggest patches of the year, usually introducing major content updates.
This year at MapleCon, we'll also get to see the Winter Update with a special MapleStory Showcase session being hosted by Inkwell and Dr. Lim.
For a preview of what to expect for the Winter Update, check out the previous MapleStory GMS Q3 and Q4 Content plans post we made.
