MapleStory GMS Q3 & Q4 2025 Content Plans - FREE Familiar Blue Cards!

August 14, 2025

MapleStory GMS director Inkwell released a new update outlining the next update patches coming to MapleStory GMS this year in Q3 and Q4. We also got updates on MapleStory Con coming in October, as well as a brand new free gift that you can claim in-game now.

Inkwell Notes are highly anticipated posts that Maplers look forward to as they usually give clear updates on the future of MapleStory GMS. The latest Inkwell Notes details what's to come in the next patches for GMS, as well as what they're prioritizing for the Winter updates.

Inkwell is GMS CPO Hanbyeol Oh, who is leading the GMS development with a new focus on making custom content suitable for GMS players.

Normally, GMS follows the original Korean MapleStory Update patches and we get slight tweaks to them. However, in recent years that has now change to GMS getting their own custom updates that can be quite drastic to what KMS has.

There is a lot to get through in the latest Inkwell Note and it's a good one!

GMS Public Test Server

We finally get confirmation that Boss Crystal Sell Limit is to be kept at 180 crystals per week. Boss Crystals are one of the ways many MapleStory players make mesos, and in KMS they made changes to the total amount you could sell. Now it appears GMS get to keep the 180 limit instead of it being reduced further!

We also got news of a brand new Public Test Server being prepared for GMS players. The PTS is a place for Maplers to test upcoming updates and find any bugs/issues with gameplay before they are officially released.

We've had several versions of a PTS before, including a Private Test Server that was only available to content creators from the Bean Brigade (which has since been discontinued in May 2025). However, each time the PTS was made available, several issues arose such as players finding bugs and not reporting them so they could exploit them in the live version, or bugs/issues being reported and still making their way into the official version anyway.

The new PTS is set to debut in 2026, so it seems we still have to wait for this to become available.

Interactive Players also are getting a win with Auction Fees being removed in the upcoming V262 patch for Cross-World Auction Trades.

Maple Con Goodies

MapleStory Con Rewards

MapleStory Fest is the annual convention held for GMS players where they can visit a venue in real life filled with MapleStory-themed events. This year, MapleStory Fest is being renamed to MapleCon LA.

As mentioned in the 20th Anniversary Announcement, MapleCon is set to be bigger and better than previous live events, however, we also got news that the ticket prices for MapleCon LA are going to be higher than previous events.

This is due to the increased cost of putting on a bigger event. In previous years, tickets would cost around $30.00 each.

This year, tickets are set to go on sale August 22nd 2025, with pricing details becoming available 4 days before on August 18th.

It looks like there will be two tickets available, with them getting special rewards with each purchase:

General Admission

  • Eco Bag
  • Socks
  • Stationary
  • General Admission Lanyard
  • Damage Skin (Unit)
  • Petite Luna Pet

MapleCon will also be the venue where we are expecting to hear more news on the MapleStory Classic update.

GMS Updates V262 and V263

Baldrix

The next two patches for GMS have also had some of their main features revealed.

V.262 (the next patch) is getting Legion Champion, the return of Midnight Carnival, Champion Burning, Challenger World Pre-Leap and the Dave The Diver event is being extended!

Midnight Carnival is normally an event Maplers look forward to, as it provides significant progression boosts for many mid-game players. Last year's Midnight Carnival was called the Night Troupe Event.

V.263 is going to be a big patch for end-game players with Skill Revamps for all MapleStory Classes, a brand new end-game boss called Baldrix, introducing Destiny Weapon and Hexa Stats III.

Winter Update Preview

The Winter Update is one of the biggest MapleStory patches of the year and we got some previews as to what the content is likely to include.

Inkwell mentions that this Winter Update for GMS will focus on Quality Of Life updates.

These include:

  • All Link Skills will be getting a Level 3 rank
  • Collect High-Level Weapon Fragments
  • Systems to help with restoring destroyed equipment
