MapleStory is now allowing players to sign up for the Closed Online Test for MapleStory Classic. Anyone with a valid Nexon account can apply and you have until April 7th 2026 to get your name on the list.
Back in February, MapleStory GMS CPO Inkwell announced that they were going to have a Closed Online Test for the new upcoming remake of MapleStory Classic. Unlike other tests, this is the first MapleStory Classic test that will be online, allowing players from all over the world to have a chance to play.
Unfortunately, the Closed Online Test is limited to just 5,000 Players.
If you attended MapleCon LA 2025 or participated in the Classic World PC Cafe tests, you are automatically included in this latest Closed Online Test. You'll also be able to play for an extra 2 days before the Closed Online Test officially starts!
To sign up for the Closed Online Test, visit the Classic World Sign Up page.
Once sign ups have closed, selected winners will be given a Game Key Code to enter into the Nexon launcher to gain access to the test (so make sure you have MapleStory installed via the Nexon Launcher!)
The Closed Online Test is not going to be a first-come-first-served event; Nexon has described the process as they will "review candidates" for the test.
Signs up close on April 7th 2026.
MapleStory Classic Closed Online Test
The new Classic Closed Online Test will be a new build compared to previous MapleStory Classic tests, mentioned in previous comments by Inkwell.
The Closed Online Test will last from April 16th - April 23rd, giving players a week to try out the new game.
Leveling and grinding for EXP will also be available in this test; previous tests all players were set to Level 50 and could not earn more EXP.

If you're one of the lucky few to be selected, you'll also get the chance to earn two CashShop Rings by:
- Reaching Level 10 and complete the quest [Event] A Strange and Familiar Wood
- Reaching Level 15 and complete the quest [Event] Beyond the Unknown
We do not yet know if these rings will be exclusive to this Closed Online Test (they may yet be given out during other upcoming tests).
The CashShop may also be functional, as the test does mention CashShop items will be changed (along with everything else).
If you play on MapleStory GMS, it looks like the Classic World server is going to be located in North America, as they mention players who connect from other parts of the world may have lag.
