The MapleStory Summer Update called Stargazer V.260 and V.261 have been plagued with multiple issues and bugs and now the GMS team have issued a new statement regarding the state of the game.
Every summer, MapleStory releases a huge update that is generally packed full of content, updates, quality of life updates and generally is one of the best times for MapleStory Players.
However, with the arrival of Patch V.260, it was greeted with more than 24 hours of game-downtime and a number of bugs that players complained about.
In a new Memo addressing some of the big issues, the MapleStory GMS team explained that an overflow bug in the code allowed players to duplicate items. This caused them to do a lengthy maintenance to remove the duplicated items and ban the abusers.
The newly released class Sia Astelle was also allowed to be Hyper Burned, which wasn't intended and when the issue was fixed, players complained about it being unfair. Hyper Burning allows MapleStory players to level their characters much faster than normal.
There were also several issues regarding Challenger World, which was newly added this year to include Heroic (reboot) servers.
GMS Content
Many different versions of MapleStory exist, and over time, the GMS version has had lots of custom content added. The latest patch also added more new custom content, but because of how buggy it was, many players felt dissatisfied and underwhelmed.
They specifically mention that they will continue to add new exclusive GMS content in the memo:
GMS includes many pieces of original content, and we plan to continue adding exclusive content for our Maplers to enjoy.
Recently, we have seen numerous unverified claims and rumors in the community suggesting that content produced by TEAM GMS will lack future support or maintenance.
However, we promise that the content produced by TEAM GMS, such as Sia Astelle, will continue to be actively serviced alongside our ongoing development efforts.
